Back where I belong
It's been a few days now with no codeine. I can't believe how much better I feel. How much better I'm sleeping too. No more dizziness, no more 'aches'. In fact I'm feeling so good that the physical therapists say I'm done, for now. Of course, I do tend to go through manic phases now and then where I feel like I could take on the world. Even on effexor xr. But right now, it's not the crazy, can't stop talking, manic like it usually is.
Just a few more days before I leave for Canada. I am getting kind of excited!! These weeklong workshops are always intense. There is soooo much information and it seems such a short time to try to cram in all the practicing you need to get a technique down. This is year 3/6 and we will start learning cotton and ramie. We will also do some more natural dyeing. I think we are going to do some color matching, or see how close we can come to matching an existing yarn. Sounds like fun, but since a calculator is on the supply list, more dreaded math!!!
Sounds like the primitive cabin that has been in my husband's family for generations may be in danger from a fire in Los Padres Nat'l Forest near Santa Barbara. This place is up in the Santa Cruz Creek area between Alexander Peak and Little Pine Mt. I had the good fortune of visiting it years ago. There is a lot of family history tied up in this cabin, lots of funny stories, and some sad ones too. The time I was there, there were wild orchids and blooming yuccas everywhere. An amazing place. Here's hoping it escaped the fire. We won't know for sure until sometime in late September probably.
Looks like Amy will be riding to Bellingham with me. It's always fun to have company on that drive. I know Allison will be happy to see her. I can't wait to check out Daiso, the store where Paige works. I think there might be some goodies going home with me from there.
Comments
Thanks for the comment on my blog by the way as u have guessed, its something I feel strongly about, maybe i need to change my friends perceptions. Start a knitting group (with wine and chocolate to tempt them) and make them see how nice it is to knit!
What workshop are you off too?
Did you know that Anne Fields works 10 minutes from where I live? My mum and I are restraining ourselves from seeking her out and peppering her with questions!
Anyways have a good day!
