Just Because You're a Master Spinner. . . . .
Frustration. Unadulterated frustration. This past week has been torturous. You would think that a Master Spinner that was going to teach you how to spin cotton would have at least practiced before she got to the class. You would think that a Master Spinner would be able to do a "long draw". You would think that someone coming to teach you might have looked over the new material before she got there. You would think that, but you'd be wrong. There were 6 of us in the level 3 class this year. And all of us were highly disappointed. At least I didn't travel all the way from Tennessee like 2 of my classmates did. They were the people who taught the class about cotton. They taught the instructor how to do a long draw. Class time management was laughable. Tangents were taken and then abandoned. Knowledge of content was poor. Explanations given were vague or so incomprehensible that no one could tell what the heck she was talking about. Mind you, the people in this class have all had a lot of advanced education in their lives. An icu nurse, an electrical engineer, a retired english teacher, to give you an idea. We are not unintelligent. But this was beyond anything we expected. Last year must have been an anomaly. I will never take a class from this instructor again. Frightful.
